Nito's Empanadas

The Name Behind the Truck
I’m Damian — but this truck isn’t named after me.
It’s named after my abuelo, Nito, who started making empanadas for his neighbors back in Uruguay in 1975. My dad carried on the tradition, and now it’s my turn.I studied culinary, spent 15 years in construction, and one day realized: if I don’t chase this now, I never will.
So here we are. Same fold. Same fillings. Same love. Rolling through Myrtle Beach with the name that means the most to me.
— Damian, Nito’s Empanadas
